This didn’t happen overnight.
Nor did it happen by chance. A practicing psychotherapist for many
years, Paula Grace is trained to be attuned to people’s psychological
and emotional needs as well as their functional needs. She brings
that cultivated, heart-felt, skill with her to every design project
she undertakes.
Prior to studying Interior Design, Paula Grace earned Masters Degrees
in Clinical Social Work and Business Administration. She held Directorships
of large behavioral health programs in a prestigious University
Medical Center and for a large behavioral health system on the East
Coast. In 2004, she took all of her studies and skills and opened
Paula Grace Designs, Inc.
Paula Grace is an Allied Member of ASID (American Society of Interior
Designers), a member of IFDA (International Furnishings and Design
Association), is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council
(Certified GreenAP), and is honored by the National Association
of Professional & Executive Women as a Women of Excellence for
her professional attributes and community work. She has published
works and has been hand selected to participate in designer showhouses.
Paula Grace was born in upstate New York to Bianca and Bogdan Halewski.
Her mother was an aspiring interior decorator – with a dramatic,
artistic flair. Her father attained a Bachelor and Masters Degree
in Business Administration from New York University. Paula Grace
inherited her natural, artistic flair from her mother, and her logic,
focus and organizational skills from her father. Currently, Paula
Grace lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and daughter.
Paula Grace describes her personal style as “transitional…I
enjoy the timeless attraction of beautiful, classic design married
with contemporary elements.”
